1. No mechanic certification
You should only hire a mechanic who has been certified by the National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence.
Although it’s not required by law for employment in all states, the certification is considered a prerequisite for employment in almost all auto repair shops.
The certification shows that the mechanic has been professionally trained in automotive repair. An ASE certification lasts for five years and all mechanics must take additional course to remain certified.
2. Mechanic doesn’t offer a warranty on services provided
